Fairy tale은 토니 브랙스톤의 세번째 앨범 The heat, 7번 트랙에 실려있는 노래입니다.
토니 브랙스턴은 좀 오래되긴 했지만, Unbreak my heart 라는 곡으로 국내에 많이 알려졌던 가수이기도 합니다. 개인기록으로는 6번의 그레미 시상식, 그리고 9번의 빌보드 시상식 수상 기록과 약 6천6백만장의 앨범판매고를 기록하고 있기도 합니다.
Unbreak my heart는 그녀의 두번째 앨범이자 가장 성공적인 앨범인 Secrets에 담겨있습니다. 이 앨범은 유명한 프로듀서인 Baby face외에 알 켈리 등 당대 유명 프로듀서들이 참여하였습니다. 이 앨범으로 전세계적으로 약 1,500만장의 앨범판매를 올린 그녀는 그 후 바로 재정파산을 맞이하게 됩니다.

그리고 나서 그녀가 다시 내놓은 앨범이 세번째 앨범 The heat 입니다. The heat으로 미국에서만 약 2백만장의 앨범 판매고를 기록하며 다시 재기에 성공한 그녀이지만, 이후 다시 파산을 맞이하게 됩니다. 그녀와 레코드사의 관계는 악화일로로 치닫고, 이후로 내놓은 앨범들은 철저히 레코드사의 지원을 받지 못한 채 대중들에게도 외면을 받습니다. 그래서인지 그녀는 이후로 앨범활동 보다는 그 밖의 예능, 영화 활동에 주력하게 됩니다.
Fairy Tale은 그녀의 곡 중 제가 지금도 즐겨듣는 유일한 곡입니다. 유명프로듀서인 Babyface와 함께 작업하여 탄생한 이 곡은 그녀가 가진 저음의 매력적인 목소리를 잘 살리고 있습니다. 또한 노래가 시작되면서 흘러나오는 기타 솔로 부분은 반복해서 들어도 질리지 않는 매력을 가지고 있습니다.
사랑하는 연인과 이별하고 아픔과 후회를 노래하고 있는 이 곡은 화려한 스타의 이면에서 수많은 아픔을 겪고 고민을 했을 그녀의 인생과도 닮아 있다는 생각이 듭니다. 개인적으로는 이처럼 멜로디와 노랫말 그리고 가수의 사연이 우연처럼 일치하는 노래들이 더욱 기억에 남는 것 같습니다.

After the great success, she went bankruptcy. Because she didn't get financial reward. so she sues the record company.
but she is in the liquidation. and the repo-man took out all the property including her clothes, electronics and even her awards.
The heat is take after the hardships she had suffer. and she success to recover from the creep by this album selling approx 2million only in US.
But she bankruptcy once again. Her business relationship with record company worsened the song put out later, could not get any support from the company and also the mass turned away from her.
Maybe did so, she turned to the movie and other entertainment rather than music and song. 그녀는 이후로 앨범활동 보다는 그 밖의 예능, 영화 활동에 주력하게 됩니다.
Fairy tale is only so I hear nowadays from her lists.
Also babyface participated, expresses clearly of the low and good voice she has and make it attractive.
The song starts with guitar solo part also has the charm that I never get tired of repeatedly hear.
This song telling the broken heart and the sorrow of parting, is look alike the life of her as she suffered hardships and agony.
Personally, finds more charm in this kind of song, that it has some coincidence harmony of melody, lyrics and the writer of singer itself.
