산 위에서 할아버지와 피터, 그리고 아름다운 자연을 눈에 담고 마음껏 체험하는 사이 두 번의 겨울이 지나고 하이디는 드디어 일곱살이 되었다.
그리고 어느날! 2명의 방문객이 할아버지와 하이디 앞에 나타난다.
One mornong, just as she was dashing out of the hut for about the tenth times, she saw an old man standing on the threshold, dressed in black and looking very solemn. p.57
한 명은 동네 목사님으로 하이디를 학교에 보내라고 설득하기 위해서인데, 할아버지는 이를 반대한다. 어릴때는 그냥 그렇구나..하며 넘겼던(어쩌면 조금은 부러운? 마음으로) 대목인데 다시 읽으니, 자신의 트라우마로 인해 하이디까지 학교에 보내지 않는것은 좀 너무하지 않나, 하는 생각이 든다
‘She’ll grow up with the goats and the birds. They won’t teach her any bad ideas, and she’ll be very happy.‘
‘She’s not a goat, nor a bird, but a little girl. She may not learn anything bad from such companions, but they won’t teach her to read or to write, and it’s high time she began.‘ p.58
But before the dinner dishes had been cleared away they had another visitor. This time it was Detie. pp.60-61
