Ever since I started to learn about medicine, I tried different basic topics such as biology, physiology, and so on. Most introductory books (almost in every field of knowledge) are not really an introduction but an encyclopedia by themselves. For this reason, you can start reading but before long you will realize that you are in the middle of somewhere where you don’t have a map.
This book is an exception to that. First of all, it is about history. So, there are plenty of stories that you can easily follow. And you become to know whys, not hows nor whats. It is a long book (almost 600 pages). And it was a long journey. But it is worthy.
Now I know that the modern day medicine still has a long way to go. There are more things that we do not know than the things that we know. Human body is really full of mysteries, but it is not only where disease is started, but also where healing (mostly by itself) is coming next.
